We recently had the pleasure of joining the most recent episode of the Stone Arts Kenya podcast. It was a warm, wide-ranging conversation about design, craftsmanship, and the values that shape how we work.

One of the first things we discussed, and something the Stone Arts team would be the first to agree with, is what makes Terry Interior Designs stand out:

Design Trends: Fact vs. Myth

We had a lot of fun separating the truths from the myths that circulate in the design world. A few highlights:

• “Marble is difficult to maintain.” Myth. With the right sealing and care, marble is a beautiful, practical choice that ages gracefully.
• “White interiors are timeless.” True, but the secret is adding tasteful touches of colour so the space feels alive rather than sterile.
• “Natural stone is only for flooring.” Myth. Natural stone works beautifully on walls, counters, and feature surfaces. Use it wherever your imagination takes it.

No space is too big or too small. Every space deserves thoughtful design.

Staying Modern, Tastefully

We also talked about how we stay current. Yes, we use AI, tastefully, as a tool that enables our design process and keeps us modern, while the human eye, hand, and heart remain at the centre of everything we create.

The Next Ten Years

Looking ahead, we see the coming decade as our most exciting yet. AI is making our work quicker and amplifying our service delivery, which means more time spent where it matters most: with our clients and their spaces. The tools will keep evolving, but our promise stays the same. Personal attention, honest advice, and spaces delivered better than imagined.
